The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish is very pleased to share the winter issue of New Mexico Wildlife. While we are no longer offering a print edition of the magazine, we believe increasing frequency and adding exclusive downloadable PDF issues expands our reach to even more readers with timely information about Department programs, personnel and accomplishments.

In this season’s issue, learn about our latest elk capture, the typical day of a conservation officer and places you should plan to visit around the state. This issue also features amazing photos of lesser prairie chickens taken by one of our biologists based in the southeastern section of our state.

In addition to the magazine, please take a look at New Mexico Wildlife Monthly Update, an e-newsletter featuring stories exclusive to the Department website. The Department is always eager to share stories about our latest efforts to conserve our state’s wildlife. The newsletter is a great way to learn more about critical Department missions such as wildlife population surveys and relocations, fish spawns and habitat improvements.
