Sportsmen and sportswomen:

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish wants to thank you for applying for a hunting license last year and encourages you to apply again this year. Online applications are being accepted now through your account on the Department website, www.wildlife.state.nm.us. If you have any trouble signing on to your account, please give us a toll-free call at (888) 248-6866 and we’ll be happy to help. If you like, we’ll help you apply over the phone.

Big-game hunting applications will be accepted for public-land deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, oryx, bighorn sheep, Barbary sheep, ibex and javelina licenses. Applications also are being accepted for special turkey and bear permits.

The annual Hunting Rules & Information booklet containing all the information you need about 2014-15 season dates, bag limits, hunting areas and more is available for viewing or download from the link at the bottom of this page or from the Department website.

If you hunted deer, elk, pronghorn antelope or turkeys last season, please don’t forget to report your harvest results by the Feb. 15 deadline to avoid late fees. Results can be submitted through your online account or by phone at (888) 248-6866. If you hunted Barbary sheep, ibex, javelina, oryx, or held a trapping license, the deadline to report your harvest results is April 7 to be eligible for 2014-15 licenses.

The application deadline for 2014-15 big-game licenses is 5 p.m. MDT March 19. The deadline to apply for special bear and turkey license is 5 p.m. MST Feb. 12.

Thank you for choosing to hunt in New Mexico. Your license fees and expenditures on hunting equipment support wildlife conservation and our local economies. Good luck, and good hunting!
