Robbie Roberts (11/30/1946 – 3/29/2021)

Dear Instructors and Friends,

I am deeply saddened to share the news that the hunter education family has lost another amazing member. I was notified this morning that Robert “Robbie” Roberts passed away yesterday morning. Robbie was an Instructor in Raton and worked at the NRA Whittington Center for 20 years. Previously he managed the shooting range in La Luz, NM.

As many of you may know, Robbie was an avid shooter and dedicated his life to teaching others the many skills of safe and responsible shooting and hunting. Robbie became a certified Hunter Education Instructor in 2000 and was most involved in teaching courses during the Adventure Camp Sessions offered at the NRA Whittington Center.

Robbie played an integral role in the shooting community not only in hunter education, but with the youth shooting sports program and as well in his local communities and nationally. The shooting community has lost a great man.

Please keep his wife Doris, his family, friends, and the NRA Whittington Center in your thoughts.

(Editor’s Note:  I took two classes from Robbie at the NRA Whittington center.  Sorry to see him go)
