Advanced Pistol Skills Course May 18, 2014 at Calibers

Sandia Gun Club and New Mexico Shooting Sports Association are hosting an advanced pistol skills course on May 18, 2014, at Calibers (Washington and Cutler northeast).

The instructor is Chuck Holt, a High-Master Bullseye shooter who placed 7th nationally in 2013. Chuck also was the top shooter at the Mayleigh Cup qualification match at Camp Perry in 2013. Chuck shot a perfect 300 in a .22 team match at the Texas State Indoor Championship earlier this month. Chuck will discuss shooting safety, the mental aspect of championship shooting as well as (the magic bullet) - trigger control. Each participant will get personal training on the range in terms of stance, grip, alignment and so on. Whether you shoot with one hand or two, use a handgun, shotgun, or rifle - you can benefit from reviewing the basics and learning advanced physical and mental techniques involved in one-handed handgun competition. If you are not already a Bullseye shooter, you can learn a new discipline while you are enhancing your overall shooting skills.

You can bring the handgun of your choice, but nothing larger than a .45 ACP - and your own ammo. If you need a target pistol, we can provide one for you but there will be a charge for ammo. We anticipate shooting approximately 150-200 rounds in the class. If we have time, we will shoot a national match course (30 rounds) to give you the experience of actual competition. Careful, you might get hooked!

If you are not familiar with red dot sights, we will have some available for you to try.

The cost for the day’s training will be $120 OR LESS. The final price will depend on how many folks participate. We do not intend to make a profit on the class, so the cost will be divided by the number participating and will not exceed $120. The price may be much lower - but $120 will give you a number to plug into your budget. Feel free to pass this offer along to friends and family - but only if they are experienced shooters. This is not intended to be a basic or beginning skills class.

We will start at 0830 and go until 1630. Lunch will be provided.

Please let me know by May 5 if you wish to attend this course. Those who have already responded need not do so again. Class size will be limited to 20.
