Peter Wirth &amp; Rep. Brian Egolf (Ds-Santa Fe) have been introduced in the 2014 session to amend Senate and House rules and ban the carrying\u00a0of firearms by anyone except a law enforcement officer almost everywhere in the State Capitol.\u00a0\u00a0<em>This includes persons licensed to carry a concealed handgun by the State of New Mexico.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" align=\"left\"><em><\/em><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: Rockwell;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: Rockwell;\">Normally, bills which don&#8217;t relate to the budget are not\u00a0germane to the\u00a030-day\u00a0session and therefore not eligible for consideration.\u00a0 Absent a message from the Governor, they\u00a0are usually never even debated.\u00a0\u00a0But\u00a0certain types of measures &#8212; including constitutional amendments, resolutions and memorials\u00a0&#8212; do not need an executive message and may be considered during the fiscal session.
