NMSSA Annual Meeting 2014

Happy New Year NMSSA Members,

As we prepare to bid adieu to 2013 in just one short day, I want to tell you of plans NMSSA has for 2014.

The 2014 Annual Meeting
will be held February 15 in Socorro at the Macie Center on the New Mexico Tech campus.  The Socorro Gun Club (SGC) stepped forward to host the 2014 meeting in the hopes that holding the meeting in a central location will enable more members to attend.  (I have heard that SGC has hosted some dynamite meetings in the past – so THANK YOU SGC!)  SGC has not finalized the agenda yet, but February 15 is going to be a day to socialize with friends, learn new things, have fun, and support NMSSA!

Everything except the date is being developed as you read this email but several activities are being investigated.  I don’t want to steal SGC’s thunder, but some of those activities include workshops, lunch, training, legislative updates, the annual meeting to include bylaws updates and elections, a tour of NM Tech’s explosives facility, and a banquet with a great speaker.  I hear there might even be a fun shoot on Sunday!  Naturally there will be a charge for meals and with so many activities we will need you to RSVP.  You may also want to reserve a room in Socorro before they get booked up.  More information will be posted on the NMSSA website (www.nmssa.org) as it becomes available – but please set aside February 15 for this great get together.

Other 2014 Activities

NMSSA wants to hold fun and competitive shoots at various locations.  Rick Davis of Deliberate Defense has volunteered to help us get started in assorted fun activities and we are looking for others to help us.  Several ranges have offered to let us hold shoots and matches at their locations around the state.  We will provide training and awards for some recurring matches to get know who is shooting which disciplines around New Mexico.  We welcome any invitations to activities in your area.  We have a lot to learn and much to do if we are to reinvigorate NMSSA and we need your help.

Mark February 15 on your calendar!
More information to come in future emails.

New Mexico Shooting Sports Association
