CMP Shooters News December 5 2013

Congratulations to another New Mexico Junior Air Rifle Distinguished Badge holder!

#669   Benjamin Spotts, Sandia Park, NM

The 2013 CMP Annual Report f. During the past fiscal year, the CMP not only provided an expanding array of firearm safety and marksmanship programs for U. S. citizens, but continued to support marksmanship training and competition activities for Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force JROTC units through funding, awards, and staff and volunteer expertise. The first ever National CMP 3-Position Air Rifle Championship was a huge success. The National Matches provide the setting for the rifle and pistol Small Arms Firing Schools where civilians are taught by the military’s finest marksmen. And this year, for the first time, the CMP has taken the Small Arms Firing Schools on the road, by providing quality training at a number of venues other than the National Matches. We take great pride in participating with the Army and veterans’ service organizations by fully supporting the Ceremonial Rifle Program.

CMP National Postal Championship – Online Registration now open – CMP sponsors a nation wide three position air rifle postal (mail-in or correspondence) competition for all junior programs including all JROTC, 4H, Boy Scouts, and junior clubs. The top shooters in these matches will qualify for the CMP Regional Championships. This is a 3×10 match and the cost of this postal will be $5.00 per competitor.
