Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his gun control organization, Everytown for Gun Safety, have turned their focus to New Mexico. Their intention is to work with anti-gun politicians in Santa Fe to ban private transfers of firearms and ultimately limit the rights of law abiding citizens. With the 2017 legislative session quickly approaching we need to work together and make sure every Second Amendment supporter knows what is truly at stake this year.<\/p>\n

A January 2013 internal U.S. Department of Justice memorandum summarizing so-called “gun violence” prevention strategies stated that the effectiveness of “universal background checks” depends on “<\/span>requiring gun registration<\/span>.” \u00a0No matter what they may claim, this is the ultimate goal of the gun control advocates pushing these misguided, ineffective schemes<\/span>, and\u00a0House Bill 50\u00a0and\u00a0Senate Bill 48\u00a0are just the start.<\/span><\/p>\n

We must act quickly! With only a couple more weeks until the 2017 legislative session is gaveled in, now is the time to come together and do everything we can to defeat these bills.\u00a0 So I urge you to sign the petition, share it with your family and friends, and work with us educate our fellow Second Amendment supporters about the proposed legislation.<\/p>\n
