Attention New Mexico cougar hunters

Cougar hunting Zones C and I are closed effective Feb. 7, 2022, as the harvest limit has been reached. Please refer to the chart below for the most current harvest reports and zone status.  

Please remember: Before hunting bears or cougars, hunters must verify the zone is open by checking the Department’s website or calling the Bear and Cougar Zone Closure and Harvest Hotline, (877) 950-5466.
